Dynamic Skating School (DSS) is a premier hockey development program specializing in game situational play and over-speed training. Our goal is to cultivate instinctual decision-making skills in critical moments. DSS emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic when rink capacity was limited to six people. This unique situation inspired the creation of innovative small-area competitive games, keeping our players active and engaged during challenging times. Our program emphasizes constant movement on the ice, ensuring every minute is utilized to teach and enhance hockey skills.
We have also introduced an exciting, fast-paced High School Spring league now featuring over 40 AAA players divided into 4 / 10 person teams. Each week, randomly selected teams compete in a full-ice game consisting of two 30-minute periods. The games are officiated, with a scorekeeper recording and sharing statistics after each game.
Our coaching staff is led by Jess Kane, a Mental Performance Mastery (MPM) coach with a Level 5 USA Hockey certification and Level IV USA Hockey officiating credentials, Having officiated in the NAHL, NA3, College, and Prep School / High School levels. Matt Stannard, also holding a Level 5 USA Hockey certification, brings extensive coaching expertise to our program. We occasionally welcome guest coaching from Prep Schools, Junior and local Universities, and other local coaches.
At DSS, we focus on maximizing each player's stride, harnessing their full power potential, and ensuring continuous improvement every year. We believe in translating a love for the game into hard work and dedication.
